Chapter 13 (write no falsehoods and acquit debt) | |
1. |
Do not cheat a man through pen on scroll ! |
|
2. |
The god abhors it ! | |
3. |
Do not bear witness with false words, |
|
4. |
so as to brush aside a man by your tongue. |
|
5. |
Do not assess a man who has nothing, |
|
6. |
and thus falsify your pen. |
|
7. |
If You find a large debt against a poor man, |
|
8. |
make it into three parts, |
|
9. |
forgive two, let one stand. |
|
10. |
You will find it a path of life. |
|
11. |
After sleep, when You wake in the morning, |
|
12. |
You will find it as good news ! |
|
13. |
Better is praise with the love of men, |
|
14. |
than wealth in the storehouse. |
|
15. |
Better is bread with a happy heart, |
|
16. |
than wealth with vexation. |
|
