The first and most distinctive difference between Jewish and Christian End Times philosophy is the Christian notion of the anti-Christ. In popular Christian belief, the anti-Christ is considered the adversary of the Messiah, the “evil one” that must be overcome before peace shall reign on Earth. |
| |
The English word Antichrist is a middle ages English word taken from the Greek αντίχριστος antíkhristos (modern Greek pronunciation andichristos), which literally means "one that is oppossed to... Christ". |
| |
The words "Antichrist" and "Antichrists" appear only five times in the Bible -twice in the letters of the Apostle John and in 1 John and 2 John. Contrary to popular myth, the Book of Revelation never lists the word "antiChrist". It is only popular Christian preachers that have chosen to mistate such error. |
| |
In the context of where the word AntiChrist is used, it is done so to decribe a false teacher, false prophet and someone whose appearance is a clear sign of the end times. Hence, why the word antichrist is now commonly associated to the Book of Revelation, even though such association is incorrect. |
| |
Given that popular culture defines the truth of many things, whether accurate or not, ther concept of the anti-Christ is now firmly associated with the End Times signs. |

The gnostic tradition of antichrist = "one that is oppossed to (being) Christ" |
| |
One of the most controversial beliefs of the Gnostics, of recent "Da Vinci Code" fame is their heretical belief that Jesus was both the Christ and the antiChrist. |
| |
This duality was based on their belief that contrary to the idea of the antiChrist being the son of the devil, the antiChrist was someone who "rejected the title and position of Christ ". In other words, someone who rejects the title of being divine, of being the messiah. |
| |
This belief came from their allegiance to the "banned" gospels such as Philip, Thomas, Mary Magdalene and Judas that spoke of Jesus having human frailties and needs, of Jesus being very aware of the importance of prophecy and its fulfilment, but also fighting within himself against his ego and the title of messiah. |
| |
To a church founded on the hard won notion that Jesus was not only the Christ, but the divine son of God, born of a Virgin, such ideas were far more dangerous than any esoteric belief in the coming reign of satan, or whether some political leader was in league with the devil. |
| |
For if ever a Gospel was to be revealed that showed Jesus being more an anti-christ (one that is oppossed to being christ) than claiming any divinity, it would be even more devastating than if Jesus married and had a family (as famously written in the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown). |

"one that is oppossed to (being) Christ" and important world change |
| |
Consider some of the actions popularly associated with anti-Christ during the last days. |
| |
The name "Lucifer" does not mean Satan, but in fact is a term for Light bringer- or bringer of wisdom. |
| |
The anti-Christ is supposed to help unify politics and bring about world working together, although this is now re-written in the Book of Revelation as a false act. |
| |
The anti-Christ and being of the Christ bloodline |
| |
There is an even more controversial theory that in order for a person to be properly called one who is opposed to being christ (anti-christ) they must first qualify for the title of Christ. |
| |
To qualify for the title of christ or messiah (both which mean "anointed one") means the candidate must first come from theholy bloodline of the House of Judah, the line of David and the messiah kings. |
| |
The title and concept of Moshiach (Messiah/Christ) originates from title given for the Kings of Judah and blood descendents of the House of David from around the 11th Century BCE to the end of the 7th Century BCE when Nebuchadnezzar had Zedekiah and all but one of his family (Princess Tamar/Tephi) executed. |
| |
While many religious leaders over the centuries have claimed to be the “Messiah”, this common prophecy is actually very difficult to fulfill, mainly because the only credible evidence of the continuation of the bloodline exists in the legends of Jeremiah taking Princess Tamar/Tephi to Ireland to the Holly High Kings, the oldest priest bloodlines of history and the bloodline of the Messiah Kings continuing in their veins. |
| |
Based on such a challenge, this is one of the most difficult prophecies to see being met. |
